RENÉE MATHEWS

Renée Mathews is an interdisciplinary artist who prioritizes soft sculpture, collage, and performance. Driven by an insatiable curiosity, her work investigates concepts surrounding the body, spirituality, and the relationship between the inner and outer worlds. Using techniques and processes that tend toward the tedious, her practice centers environmental responsibility through material consideration. Born and raised in the Greater Toronto Area, Renée now lives in Montréal where she is completing a BFA in Studio Art at Concordia University.
