Electric Ladyland
Performance recorded May 26, 2022 during
And It's Just Because I Love You: Black Artists Vernissage at WIP Gallery in Montréal, Canada.
Electric Ladyland is a surrealistic-psychedelic-immersive installation showcasing a futuristic world which lacks the social and racial discrimination found within our current society. Born out of coincidences and obsessions, this project utilizes textiles, music, performance, sonic explorations, and visual projections to create a world that displays the importance of social intimacy.
Through a series of candid conversations our artists discuss relations of care within their own lives and the direct correlation between lack of love and racial trauma. Acts of care and self love are performed alongside podcast style audio, psychedelic music, and trippy projections to create an immersive performance that encourages introspection and emotional engagement from the audience.
